A truly well constructed song that misses a real chorus but is intriguing and catchy enough to make us want to go straight back to it Connect with Tez Cadey The result is “Missing U”, a soothing pop ballad that gradually escalates into a beautiful dance finish. On this track Tez teamed up with American producer Aukoustics, also known for having worked with Galantis on their last singles. Sometimes, something extraordinary happens and sometimes it just doesn’t. You can always prepare a backbone for your dj set but being able to read and react to the crowd and the general feel on the go is what ultimately makes the difference. But its also what makes djing so interesting. Its always hard to find that subtle balance. The relationship between a dj and the audience is crucial, and yet is seems to be a fragile one – how do you see the balance between giving the crowd what they want and treating them to something new? I also want to continue exploring different music genres and keep trying out new ideas. I’ll probably be going in a more club direction with the next ones as right now i really have an urge to make people dance again. I have the three last tracks from my EP coming out on the 18th of June. Upcoming projects? What are you currently working on? I get tired very quickly so I have literally hundreds of unfinished loops sitting on my hard drive. Over which i just add layers and layers of ideas. I like to start very simple and get a loop or beat going. How do you get a track started? tell us about your production process A very honorable mention would be the Dekmantel festival for the pleasure of playing beats surrounded by the crowd After all, it is the world’s most iconic festival. If you could play any festival, which would it be?Ĭoachella would be the one for me. People like Diplo, Skrillex, Mura Masa or Lost Frequencies just to name a few But there are also so many great producers out there I’d like to collaborate with. He never fails to surprise me and innovate in the pop electronic world.
Its worth every second of my timeĬalvin Harris is a really talented producer that I really look up too. And this song introduced me to them so I can’t seem to get enough of it. Give us the name of one track that never gets old for you no matter how many times you listen to it? I started with my songs and ended the set with some harder hitting house and acid house. It was like this huge warehouse party and the crowd was electrified. I remember one of my first festivals in my hometown in the north of France. What single night out has been most memorable for you as a dj and producer? I’m also a big fan of fishing but I generally don’t talk about it because it has nothing to do with music. Tell us something we wouldn’t normally find out about you? The first two singles are out now and I’m really excited to share the rest of the EP this month. They symbolize this place I can finally call home. The songs from this EP are ones that bring me comfort and a sense of belonging.
And don’t get me wrong, I love going from one place to another but there are times when I feel i belong a little bit everywhere and nowhere at the same time. This idea really echoes in me because I have been moving around my whole life and even more now that I’m a dj. Well the whole idea behind this EP was finding ones place in this world. Tell us about your latest project ‘No Place I Call Home’ The following year I released “Seve” and I have never looked back since. It definitely launched my career because for the first time I considered making music for a living. I went and did my first gigs thanks to it and signed my first record deal. The attention it got at the time was crazy for me. I released that song back in 2013 on soundcloud. My first real breakthrough track was “Coastal Cat”. Tell us about the first track that put you on the map in the electronic scene and the journey since.
